I found Teak Master on Yelp along with other companies while searching refinishing services to restore my redwood deck. I trust and value reviews on Yelp having been a member for years and writing several reviews myself. After doing my usual research, I noticed that another company’s reviews did not seem genuine and all three of their reviews were somehow written on the same day. The company was actually flagged by Yelp for suspicious content. I called Teak Master and Tim, the owner, came out to give me an estimate the same day. He walked me through the process and made me feel comfortable that I called the right service. Their crew made my family feel comfortable with the weeklong project and the deck looks absolutely incredible. Glad we know how genuine reviews on Yelp work and did our homework. Hiring Teak Master for deck restoration is a must!
When you choose to go the route of teak for your outdoor furniture, you make a commitment. You also make a substantial investment. As an exotic hardwood, teak provides the durability and ruggedness to stand up to all weather conditions while also providing a natural beauty that blends well with any landscape.
We purchased our furniture from a company called Giati, out of Santa Barbara, California. They’re known for their exceptional designs and high quality. We have over thirty pieces consisting of dining chairs, tables, loungers, and club chairs. When we purchased our furniture ten years ago, our yard looked like a resort. But time and the elements can also play havoc with your investment – turning your beautiful honey-toned teak furniture to a dirty grey.
Restoring even a simple chair can be a time consuming and exhaustive task – believe me, I’ve tried to do it myself. First you have to deep clean the wood using a two-part cleaning process. Then, when its fully dry, you have to sand the piece thoroughly. Then you apply the stain/sealer and wipe the piece down. Sometimes a second coat of sealer is needed. So restoring that single chair can take two to three full days of pretty mundane work. And when you multiply that one piece by multiple pieces, you start to realize that keeping your furniture looking good can eat up a lot of your time.
This is why Teak Master is such a blessing. With incredibly reasonable pricing, they pick up your furniture, take it to their shop, and in only a matter of a week or two, they deliver your furniture back to you looking like it just left the manufacturer’s showroom. Tim and the rest of the team are teak experts, and they understand the nuances of cleaning, prepping, and sealing the wood. They’re also thorough and quality focused, going to extra distance to perform small repairs or fix defects. “Using Teak Master has given us back our “resort look” for our outdoor furniture. And it’s taught me a lesson that while there are some things in life that a “do-it-yourselfer” can and should do, there are other things that you want to leave to the pros, and restoring teak is certainly one of those. “To keep our furniture looking its best, we’re now on a Maintenance Program with Teak Master. They come out to the house every quarter or so and freshen those pieces that need a tune up. Now the teak looks brand new year round.
I’d highly recommend Teak Master to anyone with even a single piece of furniture that wants to keep their teak looking its best.
Teak Master has maintained over 350 pieces of Henry Hall teak furniture located at one of our properties for over seven years now. His crew comes out on consecutive weekends to perform the work so our clients and tenants are not disturbed. His crew is quick, efficient, and clean. The work Teak Master performs has been consistent and above our expectations for the entire seven years we have worked together. We look forward to working with Teak Master for many years to come.
I contracted Teak Master to restore seven benches we have located at our sushi restaurant in Ontario. The work Teak Master did on our benches exceeded our expectations we and even had them restore 45 dining room tables and our bar. We are beyond satisfied, and their crew is currently working on several projects at our new Pasadena location. Teak Master comes highly recommended by Toro Sushi!
I thought I was doing the right thing by having a couple of companies give us a quote on cleaning our teak furniture, deck, pergola and other custom built wood structures around our home in Bel Air Los Angeles. I admit we decided to go with a company that was over 100 miles out of our area strictly because the price was low. I had my reservations about hiring a company so far away from our home but they advertise on the internet as if they are in Los Angeles.
I was told by the man that came to do the estimate that he would be performing the work alongside his crew which was not true. He never showed up. This was the first sign I should have called off the project. I let the men start and later asked why they were not cleaning the pergola and other structures above the second level deck. The man told me that they did not have the equipment to get to these areas and could not go back to get them since they are not located anywhere near Los Angeles. After they left I even noticed splintering caused by over power washing.
Needless to say the project didn’t turn out well and I was not satisfied. I decided to call Tim at Teak Master a few weeks later to come back out and take a look at the wood structures for a second time. He did so immediately and submitted a new proposal delightfully. We set a date and Tim and his crew did exactly what he said they would; make our wood look great again. Simple! So, the saying goes, you get what you pay for. I highly recommend Tim and his crew to everyone reading this.
Lester at Fishbecks Patio Center handed us Teak Master’s business card 2 years ago and we just now had our teak furniture restored. Tim and his crew did a fabulous job transforming our dingy looking teak furniture into new usable furniture again. I never imagined our teak could look like this again. Wish we would have called sooner. We definitely recommend Teak Master for your teak restoration project.
I admit I didn’t believe my furniture could be saved. The Teak Master guys came out and did the work on site in one day. Thanks for saving me the time and effort. Job well done!
Our deck is made of Ipe and we have 25 or so pieces of teak furniture—both woods that are difficult to maintain. Thanks to Tim and the excellent Teak Master crew, our deck and furniture always looks wonderful—breathtaking, in fact. We have Teak Master back regularly for maintenance, to keep the look of the wood at its best. Tim and his elite crew are masters of technique, and materials. I couldn’t imagine using anyone else.
